For Paul Tappenden, art is an adventure into discovery, ever changing and growing.
He has explored many media in his forty years as an artist, but painting has been his constant passion.
In recent years he has worked with new and unusual media to develop new techniques and forms of expression, which draw from his many experiences to create work that is both unique and timeless.
He began his career in England, coming to New York in the mid seventies, where he worked as a printmaker, creating several editions of etchings, which found a national market.
In 1979, he started working in the entertainment industry, painting for Broadway, TV and over fifty movies. He also began a career as a muralist, using his specialized talents in the movie Cotton Club, The Plaza and venues throughout the Tri-state area.
As a fine artist Tappenden has received many awards and much acclaim, and has been active in the NY arts community as a curator, organizer and consultant.
His studio is located at the Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center, in Garnerville, New York.
